Big Idea: getting to know my classmates and having fun
After today I should be able to: find the agenda for each day in AVID and access the AVID Google Classroom.
Agenda:
- Bookmark AVID blog
- Join AVID Google Classroom
- First day of school slides
- Photo scavenger hunt. I will break you into teams of four. You need to be the first team to take the following photos and post them to our Padlet wall:
- Spell the word AVID using your bodies
- Take a photo with someone from the office where everyone is serious but one person
- Do jazz hands in front of one of the classroom doors
- Recreate a meme
- Pretend to be statues by the lunch tables
- Take a picture with flowers
- Mirror a staff member: find a staff member and have everyone striking the same pose
- Invisible Rope: Pretend to hold an "invisible rope" and have your team members act like they're being pulled in opposite directions.
- T-Rex Arms: Take a group photo where everyone has their arms tucked in like T-Rex arms, making a humorous scene.
- Upside Down Reading: Capture a photo of someone pretending to read a book or newspaper upside down in a library or study area.
- Shadow Puppets: Create amusing and recognizable shadow puppets on a wall or surface using your hands.
- Mystery Investigator: Pose as detectives investigating a "crime scene" (it could be a spilled drink or a fallen backpack).
- Invisible Hula Hoop: Capture a picture of someone twirling an "invisible" hula hoop around their waist.
- Frog Leap: Capture a mid-air shot of someone leaping across a pathway as if they were a frog.
- Human Knot: Form a human knot with your team members and take a photo before trying to untangle yourselves.
- Extreme Reading: Find unexpected or humorous places to read a book.
- Find something round and pretend it's a crystal ball
- Make a frozen jumping pose in front of the round planter near the office.
