Hexagon Synthesis Activity

AVID 11

Things on the to-do list:

1. Watch Module 8 video
2. Turn in screenshots for last week's assignments.
3. Fill out TRF for tomorrow's tutorial. It can be on any topic you want.
4. Putting your sources in conversation with each other.
1. Write 3-5 main points for each of your sources on your hexagon.
2. Cut out your hexagons.
3. Place two sources next to each other
1. Choose the synthesis word
2. Write the overlapping idea.
3. Create a synthesis sentence.
4. Do these same steps two more times with two different combinations of sources.
5. If you finish early, start working on your essay outline.

1. Work on your outline a little each day.

1. 3-4 Scholarly articles, preferably EBSCO or JSTOR.
2. 1-2 Google sources such as TED talks or .edu, .org, .gov websites or using Google Scholar.
4. Take notes on the content for this week's module. I will put you in groups of five. Each of you will watch six minutes of the video and take notes. You will combine all of your notes together for one of your AVID notes for this week.
5. If you finish early, begin your discussion for this week.
