After today I should be able to: identify the information about my school and plan the layout for my college door.
Agenda:
- College Doors are due on Wednesday.
- Your college doors must have the following information:
- Name of the college in large, bold letters
- Location - city and state where it's located
- Size - student enrollment, physical size of campus
- Academics - popular majors, special programs, academics the school is known for
- Admissions - acceptance rate, average test scores, important deadlines
- Cost - tuition, room and board for one year
- School colors, logo, and mascot
- Your door must have FIVE of the following:
- Fun facts - school history, traditions, alumni, etc.
- Student demographics - gender ratio, geographic diversity, etc.
- Campus features - libraries, athletic facilities, dorms, food options
- Student organizations - academic clubs, cultural groups, Greek life chapters
- Athletics - division level, conference, mascot, big sports rivals
- Academics - research opportunities, study abroad options, career services
- Campus culture - political leanings, religious affiliation, party scene
- City features - outdoor activities, public transportation, dining/shopping
- Housing - dorm options, Greek life housing, off-campus apartments
- Statistics - graduation rate, average post-grad salaries, notable alumni
- Application requirements - required tests, essays, recommendation letters
- Admissions process - Early Action/Decision, Regular Decision deadlines
- Financial aid - average aid package, merit scholarships available
- Campus events - homecoming, family weekend, traditions
