Big Idea: How do my interests help guide me in my thinking about potential career options?   

After today I should be able to: Using the results of my interest profiler, I will analyze (Costa’s Level 2) three career options and identify (Costa’s Level 1) one specific career I would like to learn more about.

    2. Use Color: Use color strategically to highlight important information and make your one-pager visually appealing.

College Research

Big Idea: How does my current high school GPA  and test scores align with an academic fit school?  

After today I should be able to: I will utilize (Costa’s Level 2) information from my transcript to identify three academic fit colleges. 

Agenda:

  1. Take notes on video about finding the right college based on PSAT/SAT scores
  2. Answer discussion question on Google Classroom.
  3. Provide students time to take notes about three academic fit colleges based on their GPA and any other filters they applied to their search. Have students include the following in their focused notes: 
    1. Current GPA Filters applied (e.g., location, majors)
    2. Choose three schools from your list to research further and take focused notes on:
      1. Name of college Admission GPA range, as it relates to current GPA Acceptance rate 
      2. Cost per year Application requirements 
      3. Graduation rate 
      4. If signed into College Board, is this considered a match, reach, or safety school based on academic progress?
      5. Any other useful information

Notetaking Day 3

Big Idea: How can I use the five phases of notetaking to improve the notes I take for college classes?

After today I should be able to: I will examine and reflect (Costa’s Level 3) to produce an authentic set of notes to demonstrate (Costa’s Level 2) and refine my skills.

Agenda:

  1. Take notes on a video about AI robots. We will use this set of notes for the next few lessons.
  2. Fill out your TRF for tomorrow.
